Thomas Dobson:
Born in Northwest Georgia, has lived in the tri-state area of Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia his entire life. After practicing boundary surveying for many years, he combined his knowledge with the real estate experience of his wife, Sissy, and together they founded Southern Real Estate.

Josh Dobson:
Son of Thomas Dobson, founder of Southern Real Estate, Josh is the co-owner of Southern and a broker for the Kimball, TN office. After graduating in 2000 from Carson Newman College in Jefferson, TN, Josh joined the family business. He lives with his wife, Cristy, and two young children, Luke and Emma Claire, on a property located within one of the Southern developments. In his own words: “I hope to be a local developer for the next 25 years.”

Travis Shields:
Always interested in pursuing a career as a surveyor, Travis received great encouragement and training from his father-in-law, Thomas Dobson. After completing his education, Travis joined Southern Real Estate as one of their chief land surveyors in 1995. He is now a co-owner of the company and head of all engineering and surveying operations at Southern Real Estate. He married Abby Dobson, Tommy's daughter, in 2006.
